As if the internet couldn’t get any weirder, a Tasmanian woman was filmed during a s*xual act with a live brown trout on a fishing trip in the countryside, which was followed by a series of legal consequences and court visits.
Catherine Lee June, 58, was on a fishing boat alongside Ashley Hallam when she put a live trout in her private area while Hallam filmed her.
Moreover, the video showcased June lying on her back, wearing a black top, and speaking to the camera, saying, “Catch the trout. The trout is wriggling,” before Hallam paned out to her private area with the trout deep inside her.

However, the incident occurred between February 2022 and January 2023, and it resurfaced when the clip made its rounds on Twitter.
As the incident garnered netizens’ attention, one user wrote, “My coworker just showed me a video of a woman shoving a whole brown trout up her v-word. Now I know why fish smell the way they do.“
After the case gained significant traction, June and her friend appeared in court for the first time on August 19, 2024, on multiple charges of animal abuse.
Netizens named June ‘Tassie trout lady’ following her video and appearance in court!
The authorities searched the case and charged June under the Classification Enforcement Act of the Australian government.
Meanwhile, the court charged the fishing pair with two counts of making or reproducing a bestiality product and three counts of possessing a beastiality product. Beastiality refers to the actual or simulated s*xual act between a human and an animal.
Likewise, June’s co-accused, Hallam, appeared in court earlier this May but has yet to enter pleas to his charges as he was equally responsible for making the video.

As the case progressed, the court granted June an adjournment until October, as the final decision on their sentence has yet to be released.
When the video was gaining interaction on social media, authorities reminded the public that possessing and distributing the video was a criminal offense.
However, that didn’t stop netizens from circulating the clip on alternative platforms such as Reddit and several video-sharing websites.
On the other hand, the ‘brown trout lady’ video has ignited movements from animal rights activists who sympathize with the fish who had to go through the disturbing act.
