Although the 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana is of the Christian religion, many misunderstood him as a Muslim immigrant due to misleading online rumors. As a result of the misunderstanding, violent protests started outside the Southport Mosque on July 30.
On July 29, Axel Rudakubana fatally stabbed three kids, Bebe King, 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Alice Dasilver Aguiar, 9, in a mass stabbing at the Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop for children in Southport, near Liverpool, in the northeast of England.
Axel Rudakubana was born in the UK. His parents came here legally. They aren't on benefits. They're "heavily involved" in the Christian church.

Not "illegals".
Not Muslims.
Not scroungers.
Everything he became, he became in legally resident, Christian Britain.

As the court had kept the identity of the criminal private before, online rumors that he was a Muslim immigrant spread like wildfire, which in turn gave birth to public riots towards the Muslim community.
However, the convict Axel Rudakubana is not Muslim; instead, his parents are Christian Rwandan immigrants who are deeply involved with a local church.
Furthermore, his neighbor reported that they used to hear Axel Rudakubana singing choirs every time and again. So, it is clear he is not Muslim; neither are his parents.
While the crime is indeed heinous, riots based on the religion of convict Axel Rudakubana are unjustified!
The British court had not revealed Axel Rudakubana’s identity until Thursday, as he is still under 18. Given the unknown identity and hateful, misleading rumors of him being Muslim gave rise to multiple riots throughout England.
Especially on July 30, people who believed Axel was Muslim gathered outside Southport Mosque and set fire to cars and bins. They even damaged a local shop and threw bricks at the mosque. In addition to that, more than 50 police officers were injured while trying to stop the riots.
Besides that, there have been violent protests in Manchester, London, and other places in the UK.
Now, given the increasing hatred between communities from misleading Muslim rumors, the UK court eventually released the identity of Axel Rudakubana to prevent any further damage.
A judge has lifted reporting restrictions on the Southport stabber.

We can now CONFIRM:
Name: Axel Rudakubana
Age: 17
Place of birth: Cardiff
Religion: Not a Muslim
NOT A MUSLIM OR AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT THAT CAME ON A BOAT — WHICH THE FAR-RIOT RIOTERS HAVE CLAIMED. pic.twitter.com/FHMe75Tuwa
On the matter, London’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “There is no place for criminality on our streets, and I fully support the Met police taking action against those intent on violence, causing disorder and spreading division in our city.“
After the revelation of the identity of Axel Rudakubana, the public has significantly calmed down a bit, but still, there are some people whom the news has yet to reach.
Nevertheless, it is saddening to see that riots came forth not out of concern for the young girls who lost their lives but rather based on the religion of the convict Axel Rudakubana.
One X user even wrote, “Alex Rudakubana, the m*rderer of Southport children.
Now that the name is revealed, I hope the far-right rioters will stop their madness against immigrants and Muslims. This hate must end!”
