On April 4, 2023, the former baseball pitcher Paul Byrd announced his break from the Braves broadcast, mentioning he wanted to be at home with his wife Kym, who is recovering after facing a fatal illness.
Sharing a Facebook post, he wrote, “Almost lost my wife Kym to a medical issue this offseason. So grateful to say that she is on the road to recovery and getting better each day.” Stating it as the reason why he took the season off, Paul further wrote that he is looking forward to joining Braves on Bally Sports next year.
A year has already passed, but the news of Paul rejoining the Atlanta Graves has yet to come. The good news, meanwhile, is his wife, Kym, appears to be absolutely fine now.
On December 26, 2023, she shared a picture of herself and her husband Paul, captioning that they made it to Christmas without anyone being sick.
Well, Kym’s last Facebook post was updated a month ago, on May 17, and she seems quite healthy and happy in it.

Later, on October 1, 2018, she started serving as the co-founder, spiritual director, and soul rest facilitator at the same place, as per her Facebook info.
After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University, Kym began her career by piloting marriages in sports research projects. She has participated in several radio programs, displaying her ‘perspective on surviving the pro sports world and a career-dominated marriage.’
Likewise, Kym Byrd was also an assistant member of the REEL Experiences at Art Within launching program from 2013 to 2017. She is currently in charge of overseeing Byrdhouse Ministries’ everyday operations.

It’s been over three decades since Paul Byrd and his wife Kym have led a beautiful married life. The couple met as teenagers while studying at Louisiana State University and fell in love.
On January 15, 1994, the two young individuals, Paul, 23, and Kym, 22, tied the knot in a low-key wedding ceremony. Ever since then, their union has gotten stronger with each passing day.
Well, as of now, the couple is already the parents of two grown-up sons, Grayson and Colby Byrd.
As per Grayson’s Facebook intro, he is a student at Clemson University. Like his father, Paul, he plays baseball for the college team. Likewise, he graduated from King’s Ridge Christian School.
