A few days ago, Blake Dunn debuted in the major league with the Cincinnati Reds and left an unforgettable presence on the field, scoring two runs in two games, leading to two wins for his team.

While Blake considers his major league start a dream come true, sports enthusiasts assume Blake is the son of former American baseball player Adam Dunn, famously known as Big Donkey.

On March 30, 2024, a Twitter user named Will Carroll tweeted, “Someone just asked me if Blake Dunn (Reds prospect) was Adam Dunn’s son.”

Further, in a tweet, he clarified that Blake is not Adam Dunn’s son, with an unusual explanation: “B Dunn was born the year A Dunn was drafted.”

Well, whatever the matter is, it’s for sure that Adam and Blake Dunn have no personal relationship.

The commonality in Adam and Blake Dunn is just their surname & association with Cincinnati Redds, not more than that

Like Blake Dunn, Adam also made his MLB debut with the Cincinnati Reds. Both individuals with the same surname established their identity with the same team, and people appeared to link them involuntarily.

But it is just a coincidence, nothing else. Besides their commonality as athletes, the two are unrelated.

Adam and Blake hail from completely opposite directions. While Blake Dunn is originally from Holland, Michigan, Adam is a Houston native.

Further, as for the family details, Blake is currently in a relationship with CCU Women’s Soccer Alumni Victoria Kyriakopoulos. Besides this, no other information on his personal life is available.

On the other hand, Adam is married to his wife, Rachel Brown, and the two share four children together, including his son Brady.

Additional Information

  • Former baseball player Adam Dunn was born on November 9, 1979, in Houston, Texas, while Blake was born on September 5, 1998.
  • In his 14-year career, Adam played for various baseball teams, including the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Nationals, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Chicago White Sox.
  • As mentioned in his MLB bio, Blake Dunn was a baseball roster at Western Michigan University. His MLB debut took place on June 4, 2024.
