Susana Lluch, proud mother to the Manoah brothers, does not hesitate to display her love for the MLB player Alek Manoah, who believes that his mother’s life journey made him and his brother stronger.
She was her family’s sole earner when she married Alek’s father, Erik Manoah Sr., at 17 and had Alek and his elder brother, Erik Manoah Jr., over a three-year gap.
Initially, the duo shared similar interests in athletes and could not wait to introduce baseball to their sons. Susana belonged to an athlete family, with her mother idolizing the New York Yankees and her two brothers being athletes.
Erik Manoah Sr. included balls in all of their toys to encourage their sons to play baseball.
However, things went awry when Alek Manoah’s parents divorced in 2014 after separating in 2010. Susana became a single mother to her sons and promised to do her best to give them the life they wanted.

Born in Florida to Cuban-descendant parents, Alek Isaac Manoah is a 26– year-old American baseball pitcher who plays Major League Baseball for the Toronto Blue Jays.
All of his grandparents, either from his mother’s or father’s side, are Cuban, while his mother, Susana, was raised in Miami.
Details on his father are limited as they have never been on good terms after they ended their 20 years of togetherness.
Susana once mentioned that her ex-husband is a sensitive topic for her family and sons.
Her words followed: “Divorce affects everyone, but they witnessed a lot of things growing up between their father and I.”
Even Alek Manoah mentions that his mother has sacrificed a lot for him and his brother Erik Manoah Jr., a former MLB player, from taking on a job in a law firm to various side jobs to feed her sons.
Now, the mother of 26– year old-right hander, proudly sits on the bleachers, cheering for her son. She stole the show during Alek’s Blue Jays debut in Yankees Stadium on May 27, 2021.
Susana’s tears of joy and fired-up cheering became the center of attention as she threw fist pumps, blew kisses, and hugged her now husband, Carlos Manuel Lluch, whom she met in 2014.

Susana remarried Carlos on January 20, 2018, and now is the stepmother to Carlos’s children, who seem to have two sons and a daughter.
As for Alek’s father, he is inactive on social media, and his current whereabouts remain secluded from the media reach.

- The Toronto Blue Jays selected Alek as the 11th overall in the 2019 MLB Draft.
- As of December 9, 2023, Alek Manoah is married to his new wife, Marielena Manoah, in Puerto Rico. They have been together for four years since their college days.
- Alek recently had to leave the game against the Chicago White Sox on May 31, 2024, due to right elbow discomfort and might need an MRI.
