On Mother’s Day 2022, Tina Knowles took to Instagram with a lengthy caption to celebrate her late mother.
Although her parents are long gone, Tina still carries the family legacy by cherishing the memories.

Tina Knowles’ parents were Black Americans of Louisiana Creole heritage!
Tina Knowles was born Celestine Ann Beyoncé on January 4, 1954, to her parents, Lumis Albert Beyincé and Agnéz Deréon.
According to various reliable outlets, her father, Lumis Albert Beyincé, was born in 1910 in Abbeville, Louisiana. He used to be a longshoreman.
Meanwhile, Tina Knowles’ mother, Agnéz Deréon, was born in 1909 in Delcambre, Louisiana, and she used to be a seamstress. They were the black Americans of Louisiana with Creole heritage.
The couple married and welcomed seven children: daughters Selena, Flo, and Tina and sons Lumis Joseph Beyoncé, Melvin Marsh Jr., and Skip. However, Tina’s remaining sibling remains private.
Interestingly, in 2020, Tina Knowles revealed that Beyoncé is her maiden name, and it should have been Beyincé instead.
The businesswoman Tina revealed that it was due to a clerical error on her birth certificate.
When Tina Knowles confronted her mother about why she did not correct it, she replied, “I did one time. The first time, and I was told to be happy that you’re getting a birth certificate because, at one time, Black people didn’t get birth certificates.“
Later, Tina did not change it back to its original spelling and passed on the name to her R&B singer-daughter Beyoncé.
Also, Tina Knowles is closer to her mother. She said, “I owe everything in me that is good to you, mama !!“
She added, “I am living off of your prayers and you taught me that my children will live off of my prayers when I am gone and their children will pass it on.“
