Jimmy Herring and wife Carolyn Herring got married in 1980 and have now been married for 44 years.
The guitarist has nothing but praised for his life partner as she has fully supported him and his musical career throughout their relationship.
Through their marriage, Herring and his wife also have two children: a daughter named Cameron and a younger son named Carter.
Recently, Herring and his family have received the shocking news of the guitarist’s cancer diagnosis.
Further, after the news, the guitarist and his band, Widespread Panic, canceled their Asheville concert.
Through their Instagram post, the band shared, “The Widespread Panic Family is sad to report that our Brother, Jimmy Herring, has been diagnosed with stage 1 tonsil cancer. He will begin treatment immediately and is expected to make a full recovery. That part we’re happy to report.”

According to The New York Times, Jimmy Herring’s wife, Carolyn Herring, is a school teacher.
Their daughter, Cameron, is an artist, and she attended the Savanna College of Art and Design. She married Duane Trucks, the current drummer of Widespread Panic.
She also did the artwork for Jimmy’s solo album titled ‘Subject to Change Without Notice’.
Additionally, their son Carter is a fantastic guitar player and has shared a stage with his dad at the Counterpoint Festival.
In an interview with Arts Atl, Jimmy Herring expressed his appreciation to his wife, crediting her with their stable marriage.
The guitarist explained, “My wife is truly amazing. I mean, when you come home after being out on the road for six months, and you have only $500 to show for it and two small kids and your wife smiles and supports and encourages you — you know, wow!”
He further added, “I didn’t make any real money as a musician until I was in my 30s, but my wife let me do what I love, with love.”
Apart from all this, Carolyn Herring seems to be secretive and has not revealed much about herself.
With his recent diagnosis, Jimmy has taken the time to recover with the support of his wife and children.
