While everyone is seemingly criticizing country singer Ingrid Andress for her painful national anthem performance at the 2024 Home Run Derby, her parents, Brad and Inger Andress, are staying loyal fans and supporting her in her efforts to improve.

Though the national anthem is a relatively difficult song because of its ubiquity, singer Ingrid chose cursive-style singing, which backfired as it irked every listener.

Furthermore, many have begun to compare her off-key performance to Fergie’s infamous national anthem at the 2018 NBA All-Star game. One X user (formerly Twitter) sarcastically tweeted, “Fergie watching Ingrid Andress claim her crown for the worst national anthem of all time.”

In addition, netizens are bashing her and doubting how she got the Grammy nomination four times.

Regardless, in this crucial time when everyone is scrutinizing Ingrid Andress and her singing talents, her parents and hardcore fans know that it wasn’t her best night, and her single performance does not justify her singing prowess.

Ingrid Andress’ parents homeschooled her and instilled her passion for music!

The accomplished country singer and songwriter Ingrid Andress, 32 was born on September 21, 1991, to her parents Brad and Inger Andress.

Born in Southfield, Michigan, she grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, with four siblings: three sisters and a brother.

Ingrid Andress’ father, Brad Andress, 61, was born on November 27, 1962, in Elyria, Ohio.

Brad Andress is a professional baseball coach with over 19 years of experience specializing in strength and conditioning. Since 1990, he has coached several teams, including the Detroit Tigers, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, and the University of Michigan.

Meanwhile, Ingrid’s mother, Inger Andress, is a real estate agent who grew up outside of Minneapolis in a family full of real estate experts.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she is the founder of Kai-Zen Solutions LLC and the author of Kai-Zen: Breathing Life Into Leadership.

In an interview with The Line of Best Fit, Ingrid revealed that her mother was into music, so she credits her mother for instilling her passion for music.

She said, “My mum was really into music so she started me early on piano, but as far as what we were allowed to listen to, it was very Christian or classical.”

Moreover, given her father’s work nature, the Andress family had to move a lot, so Ingrid recalled being homeschooled growing up. In the New York Times interview, Ingrid said, “You lived with your piano teacher, so she would know if you practiced or not.”

At first, singer Ingrid Andress thought she would follow in the footsteps of her athletic parents, but she realized her passion for music and got into it.

Now that their daughter had risen to prominence with her breakout song, More Hearts Than Mine, she revealed to Billboard that they were the biggest fans of her work.
