Republican lawyer Mehek Cooke has always been vocal about her parents’ struggles, mainly her father, who started his days in America with just $30 in his pocket. The daughter now makes them proud as a renowned lawyer and media consultant.
Mehek even wrote “Born in India, Made in America” on her LinkedIn profile, as she and her family immigrated from India to Ohio when she was a child.
Later, she became interested in American politics and graduated with her BA in Political Science at The Ohio Institute, her MA at Indiana University Indianapolis, and her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University Bloomington.
Her career achievements include significant experiences such as Assistant Chief Counsel to John Kasich, Governor of Ohio, from 2012 to 2014.

Mehek Cooke, a key player in GOP Politics, was born in India to her parents, mother Sunita Singh and father Jagdeep Singh. They are both Asian Americans.
Jagdeep graduated from the National Defence Academy of India in 1970 and later immigrated to Columbus, Ohio, in 1988 when Mehek was still a child.
At the time of immigration, Mehek Cooke was five years old, as she was born on July 9, 1983. So, her current age is 41.
Sunita and Jagdeep are also parents to their son Manav Singh, brother of Mehek Cooke, an entrepreneur handling the family hospitality business, Sintel Hotels, which Jagdeep Singh started in 1997 by acquiring his first hotel.
Now, Sintel as a brand has expanded to over eight hotels in the Midwest and several retail centers with an ambition to expand into retail plazas.
Thanks to the business expansion, Jagdeep now handles over $75 million worth of real estate transactions, while Manav’s is around $65 million.
