Following the success of the recent HUF x Haroshi x DLX Collaboration, HBTV sat down with HUF founder Keith Hufnagel to explore a range of inspirations that initially sparked the three-part collaborative. Rooted in a mutual respect for each other’s respective art form, lifestyle and passion, the Japanese designer constructed each of the innovative and original wood art pieces based on a specific individual or element as they related to the project. Expressing his admiration towards Hiroshi, Hufnagel sheds light on the progression and hard work of every individuals that played a role in seeing the one-of-a-kind collaborative to fruition.
Having first taken time out to speak with Keith Hufnagel regarding the recent HUF x Haroshi x DLX collaboration, our latest HBTV feature highlights the progression of the project from the perspective of famed artist, Haroshi. From beginning to end, Haroshi discusses the initial approach from Hufnagel regarding the project, the development of the three-part collaboration and the process of actualizing each piece. The artist discusses the intense thought and brainstorming that went into every piece, as well as the logic for choosing to work with DLX boards. A project that began from mutual respect for each parties respective body of work, art, and speciality, the retrospective glimpse at each member’s contribution is a testament to the impressive end result. Also seen throughout the video are rare shots taken by Brandon Shigeta in Haroshi’s Japanese studios which paint a vivid picture of his process.
