Construct (Science Fiction Short Teaser) / Kevin Margo (from Blur Studio)

CONSTRUCT is a Sci-Fi short film advancing the art of filmmaking, VFX and virtual production.
This teaser was presented as part of a tech demo at Nvidia’s GTC conference March 25, 2014. This is a work in progress intended to illustrate recent advancements in graphics hardware and software capabilities.
This exciting and excellent micro-teaser comes from Kevin Margo, a VFX/CG supervisor at Blur Studio and the director of the sci-fi short, Grounded. The tantalizing teaser reveals a construction worker drone who shows up on “his” work site at the wrong time as he walks in on something sinister and becomes a witness. We are excited to see the actual short but it remains to be seen if and when the full-length short (or film) will come out. It might just exist to garner hype and act as promotional material –and it’s working as this teaser has garnered considerable buzz.
For some time, we have been big fans of Blur Studio, an award-winning animation/design/VFX/CG company based in Venice, California. They have created numerous title sequences for film and television and some ultra-memorable trailers for the DC Universe Online games (1, 2, 3) and the Batman Arkham Origins stuff (1, 2). Margo has played a huge part in some of that work.
Watch the making of CONSTRUCT below.
