The Freitag Store Zurich is built entirely of flight rusty, recycled freight containers. Lovingly they were excluded, reinforced steep, highly stacked and bolted solid. So in Zurich created a bonsai skyscraper: Low enough to stay below the official line of high-rise, high enough to be self-pay at hardboiled visitors dizziness.

Founded by Markus and Daniel Freitag, the Swiss messenger bag company Freitag started in 1993 in Zurich; they have expanded globally since then. In 2006, they finally opened a flagship store in their hometown. Keeping with their company ethos of recycling (their unisex bags are composed of repurposed truck tarpaulins, bicycle inner tubes and seat belts), they have reclaimed old shipping containers and stacked them into their composed towering store.

The structure was designed by architects Annette Spillmann and Harald Echsl.
