We always find it intriguing how some artists, painters and illustrators strive for photorealism, mimicking every pixel of detail — while a photographer possibly endeavors to capture the painterly essence and aesthetics of its subject. Case in point, professional photographer Hiroshi Iwasaki took this series of lovely and serene close-ups of the delicate fins of goldfish. They resemble photorealistic painting and are mesmerizing stills.
