Beyond The Black Rainbow Trailer / Panos Cosmatos

The new film debut by Panos Cosmatos, Beyond The Black Rainbow, promises to be a visually stunning film. It has already drawn comparisons to 2001: A Space Odyssey, Tron, Daft Punk’s Electroma, A Clockwork Orange, Sunshine, Event Horizon and Enter the Void. Those allusions are so strong it’s hard to keep from laughing. I’m dubious, but we will see if it lives up to the hype. The trailer, as seen above, is hypnotic, intriguing, foreboding and cold..
Let the new age of enlightenment begin.
Set in the strange and oppressive emotional landscape of the year 1983, Beyond The Black Rainbow is a Reagan-era fever dream inspired by hazy childhood memories of midnight movies and Saturday morning cartoons.
From the producer of Machotaildrop, Rainbow is the outlandish feature film debut of writer and director Panos Cosmatos. Featuring a hypnotic analog synthesizer score by Jeremy Schmidt of Sinoia Caves and Black Mountain.
