Mayer Hawthorne takes us down memory lane with A Long Time, by featuring Highland Park’s Channel 68, The New Dance Show, hosted by R.J. Watkins. The New Dance Show was a low-budget local version of Soul Train that aired in the ’80s and early ’90s and featured regular dancers including a man who dressed like a vampire with a cape and a woman who dressed as a boxer. The New Dance Show was young Mayer’s after school favorite.
